    System 32 homebrew?

Charles McDonald documents are legendary among all SEGA homebrewers. http://dreamjam.co.uk/emuviews/txt/s32tech.txt Very happy to hear about your project.

    Konami 005273 Resistor Network

If anyone is interested, I wrote a blog post about how I went about measuring those.

    Konami 005273 Resistor Network

I ended up measuring... And I guess what the heck, I built my own PCB because why not? This one could potentially be soldered directly to the board, or a classy header could be soldered into it as well.

    Konami 005273 Resistor Network

Thanks. Yes I've seen those. I'm just wondering about the schematics because I could put something together and at least test the board properly before I decide if I return it or not, before buying any parts. But I guess I can pull one of those from the board and measure them myself.

To ship to the United States.

    Konami 005273 Resistor Network

Bought TNMT and it came with 4 of these missing (RN1, RN2, RN3, and RN4). Anyone got some spares of those? If not, is there any schematic of those?

Need a good source for NEC D27C1000A/D for System 16B

That should do it. Slap a TSOP SST39SF040 on it and solder the pads on the bottom to configure as desired. I choose solder jumpers because mechanical jumpers would not only look uncool, but would add unnecessary cost. I'll most likely manufacture those as a black PCB for a less disruptive look.

Need a good source for NEC D27C1000A/D for System 16B

Yeah, I think that's just what I'm going to do. Will get the TSOP version of SST39SF040 and mount it on a DIP32 size PCB and add some solder jumpers to configure JEDEC/Non-JEDEC, and to configure the EPROM size (128/256/512KB), and call it a day. Won't look so cool but will save me from the...

Need a good source for NEC D27C1000A/D for System 16B

It all comes down to that pin 2 and pin 24, which are swapped. I checked for a MX27C1000PC datasheet but I cannot find it. I did find something about MX27C1001 being non-JEDEC, but they seem rare on eBay. Well at least I have one alternative... will keep looking. If anyone else has a good...

Need a good source for NEC D27C1000A/D for System 16B

Hi everyone. So I tried buying NEC D27C1000A non-JEDEC eproms to use on System 16B conversions... but my last two purchases were less than successful. I bought it from ebay, the same seller that had sold me good D27C1000A eproms, and 3 weeks later they arrived, marked slightly discolored but...

    Sega C2 stereo mod ?

#2 is correct. All games in C/C2 are outputting pure mono audio. YM3438 panning registers are all set to center. #3 is not the case because only one output is connected. The audio mixing circuit does not provision for stereo mixing either so it would be impossible to do the mod without an...

Setting up Chinese Naomi JVS I/O

Sorry, the only SEGA IO I know is not JAMMA, so it would get power from Naomi, rather then the edge connector. In any case, just ignore what I said. As I posted above, I'm new to this NAOMI thing.

Setting up Chinese Naomi JVS I/O

You definitely want to have a solid ground connection between the two boards to avoid any ground differential if boards are being powered by different sources. I wonder if the VGA cable, Audio Cable, and the USB (JVS) cable are enough to connect grounds between the IO board and Naomi.

Setting up Chinese Naomi JVS I/O

Thanks for the video. I'm new to Naomi and ended up getting the system before the IO board, and now I have the IO board on the way here, but I didn't have much luck explaining even how to hook it up. It's good to be aware of that kick glitch so that I can correct it as soon as it's here. It...

Fantasy Zone 1 on System 16B

Hi again. My further efforts to get Fantasy Zone to run on the System 16B with the 171-5358 romboard have yielded some progress... however it's far from perfect. And I think it will never work without further patches to the program roms. I'll explain why after this photo. This is the best I got...

Fantasy Zone 1 on System 16B

Yes @rtw, definitely. And thank you so much for having posted those. What I'm doing is a sort of clean room rebuild of the Fantast Zone 16B set, so that I can post the IPS patches, in that way, we don't have to worry about dead links or any deleted threads. And it should work with any clean set...

    Late introduction. Greetings from Iowa

Hi everybody. I guess I just jumped right into the action and I forgot to come here and say hello. I'm Tulio, video game lover, and now discovering the incredible universe of arcades. I was born in Brazil but living in Iowa, USA since 2006. Maybe some of you know me already for having made...

Fantasy Zone 1 on System 16B

Yesterday I was able to extract the files from my image of Fantasy Zone Complete Collection (Sega AGES 2500 volume 33) for PlayStation 2. It seems that the sprites are shared with Fantasy Zone Time Attack. In any case, since it's independence day holiday, I get a long weekend, so I'll use this...

Fantasy Zone 1 on System 16B

@Blio Seri, I see. Yeah I don't own a multi... so I wouldn't know if that's the case. I was just going of what's listed in this post... which seems to have been outdated. I may get a multi in the future but right now, since I have 21 System 16B boards 😅 and many have repeated games, I do enjoy...
