It's a DLP tv. I have tried many different cables. I think that DVS 304 can't do 24khz. And my GBS8200 may be just dead after long shelf life. At least it's can't display any CGA/EGA modes from the pattern generator too. Tomorrow would get a new one to test.

You're right! Magnetic distortion goes away, when the monitor is placed in cocktail mode. I have no idea how monitor orientation affects magnetism. I guess I have to tune the colors and. figure out why the picture turns brown/yellowis after a minute or so. Would be quite a task, given those...

The chinese chassis does not have degaus coil circuit at all, but I have salvaged it from the original one and connectd back. Degauss works (it's basically connected to AC via a fuse and thermistor). I have tried magnets, but looks like they are just not strong enough.
