Idk what I did wrong but it works now. I took it apart and put it back together again. I made sure a and b boards were seated properly together and made sure the screws were even torqued down. I plugged it back in and works with no more vertical bars! I never knew Cps2 was so finicky. Kinda...

I have vertical bars now after replacing the battery. I “seated” all the roms by pressing them down lightly before I put it back together again after the battery replacement; did I ruin a rom while doing that?

Ok I changed the vertical position and the dead spot stayed there. I removed the glass and unfortunately it was not just a piece of dust. Any ideas? Just have to live with it?

Looks muuuch better now, thank you! Gameplay with samurai shodown has much less visible horizontal lines now. Might need a new tube since I can’t bring the brightness down too much to get that nice dark black otherwise I won’t see anything. Lol.

My samurai shodown has horizontal lines in it, any ideas? My puzzle bobble has one horizontal line also. Both carts cleaned. Moved them to a different slot, issue is still visible.

Confirmed and works fine. Also the System Wiring Diagram in the manual shows number 4 on the main pcb edge not connected to anything also. Thanks for your help!

I’m a little confused with wiring. The molex connector coming out of the power supply has (3) +5v red output pins but the connector at the board needs(4) +5v outputs?
