How to get the pixel/dot clock of an arcade game for the OSSC

Sounds like you know what you are doing :D I have no clue on scalers myself but have seen a lot of videos about the new retro tink 4k which looks good. In my mind, if the scaler output and TV panel both suppprt VRR then that is surely the best you can hope for? I love the way you can run...

How to get the pixel/dot clock of an arcade game for the OSSC

If the flat panel is locked to 60hz and you try to play Taito F3 which is 57hz, what happens? I'm guessing you get screen tearing? Unless scalers nowadays (and your monitor) support VRR output and it outputs at the 57hz? That would be cool. Maybe consider a nice CRT, maybe even a 50inch rear...

SEGA Lindbergh Monitor Swap with 3D Printed Mounts

I think I'd rather keep the glass too and this method removes the glass. Maybe get clear glass cut and decase the monitor. Will chance a 32UQ750-W Another mini project added to the list.

SEGA Lindbergh Monitor Swap with 3D Printed Mounts

Anyone doing this in 2023? The only LG 32 inch in production 2023 is the 32UQ750-W (4k, VRR). Would it be compatible? 32UQ750-W: 28.1" x 16.5" x 1.8" However I can still find a 2021 model 32GP850-B as used by tonyt76. It's 2k instead of 4k but is VRR and actually has a lower refresh than the...

Converting an Operation Tiger to JAMMA and custom controls: Part 3 - reviewing the damn game! - 9/22

Lovely jank. I never realised you could just use an ide connector on these. The 50 pin connector on the PCB is made by JAE.com. It's part number PS-50PE-D4T1-LP1 and used on 90's Namco cabs. So another way is to get the PS-50SEN-D4P1 or PS-50SM-D4P1 corresponding wire connector and push in the...

    Naomi 2 repair log

Great tip on bypassing the IC9 hang using a Naomi 1 game. The next issue is: how to identify which RAM is bad when you have a black screen.

VGA video amplifier board for Arcade Monitor with sync filter

Put me down for one for sure please! If you had some way of importing the resolutions generated using vmmaker that would be a great option. Most people are already familiar with the vmmaker tool and it is great at generating compatible (super) resolutions once you select the monitor model from...

Let's Connect a PC to an Arcade Cab, Shall we??!!

I bought Antonio's Jamma adapter a few weeks ago. The website calls it "jamma adapter for mister". But it works for pc too. https://antoniovillena.es/store/product/jamma-adapter/ It's detected as a 2 player joystick in Windows rather than a keyboard (xinput). As long as the emulator supports...

Let's Connect a PC to an Arcade Cab, Shall we??!!

It's very rare for an lcd to support the low 15khz. Usually they start at 31khz. Here is a list: https://15khz.net/ But you can't run any super resolutions on an lcd.

    Light gun multicade setup?

If you open mame.ini then add or edit the parameter: offscreen_reload 1 But some gun games that don't reload off screen don't like this so you may have to creat folders/ini files for specific games. Congrats on the usb2gun they are like gold dust. If you have time could you see if it work...

Let's Connect a PC to an Arcade Cab, Shall we??!!

I've never used groovytime but I can say the Samsung lcd is not going to take the signal unless it's a modern vrr monitor and even then you would only use stock groovymame and not generate the super resolutions with vmmaker. For a regular 60hz lcd it's best to stick with normal mame...

Midway wolf. Repro of the dreaded U45 Altera clpd chip.

I found another post from Phil about the U45. In 2020 he was trying to dump U45 (Blio's link: https://forums.arcade-museum.com/threads/is-there-any-solution-for-missing-u64-chips-wolf.472527/#post-4168086 ) but is looks like in 2021 Phil said U45 is dumped...

Naomi Pi 'WiPi Netbooter' - compatible with Pi 3&4

Very odd. From your pc run the command ping 10.0.0.5 -t Confirm you see a stream of reply from messages. Then go over to your new net dimm and unplug the network cable. Do the replies stop? If so, everything network wise seems fine.

Naomi Pi 'WiPi Netbooter' - compatible with Pi 3&4

Are you connecting you pi to the netdimm via a cross over cable or via network switch? If it's the later, plug a laptop into the switch OR else connect the laptop to the cross over cable to the netdimm. Give the laptop an IP address on your range, say, 10.0.0.200 and the appropriate subnet...
