DARKSOFT CHIHIRO TYPE 3: New Firmware !

On all Chihiro net-dimm supported games ? I remember seeing something like this on some of them like the gundam games as they need a specific board to run, due to the analog inputs.

That's great to hear! In both respects, that he's still lurking around, and that there's a possibility for his products to make a resurgence.

@defor thank you for shedding some light on my suspicions especially on how brizzo's dongle works. It is a shame he's departed, I wish him the best and hope he returns to the scene, when ready. I share your sentiment, and have veered away from a bootleg SC3 Copy, and instead opted to get an...

Well sadly it's not that easy or I got a new-er PS2 Memory Card... but here's a side by side comparrison, I think the top was Soul Calibur 2, and the bottom was a PS2 (Original Sony Yellow Clam Shell) Boxed NOS Card. My guess is that Brizzo found out which lanes on the chips are basic IO/Write...

I also added Gundam vs. Gundam Next, I know it's a HDD game but you need to keep the "Key" someplace, so here you go...

    Namco 246/256 DVD/PS2 Case Inserts

I'm starting to get some more games from Japan, so I added this one... I Updated shared file from above on dropbox, it has this one and all previous games I've tried to make "work" ... I'm looking for a "Game Only" as I can find systems and games together, of Fate/Unlimited Codes

    Mvsmulti with MVS-4 issue

It seems like either the backup ram area is having issues, or the 161-1 is writing something to the backup ram, that's causing it to think there's no cart the next time. Did you check the backup battery ? Does it have around 3.3v ? Could be barely low or high and running it for a little is...

I had/have purchased one with my Old PS3, as it had backwards compatibility to PS2/PS1 so I wanted to be able to use it with my old save games so I didn't start over.

Yeah I have the USB PS3(PS2) Card Reader, but I didn't think Brizzo's software would work with that, I was under the assumption that you could move the nand from a 246 cart, to a PS2 cart, flash it with the USB PS3(PS2) adapter, and then you had to move the nand back, I also have a copy of the...

    Mvsmulti with MVS-4 issue

Crosshatch should only happen when it senses no cartridge, the fact that you hit B is just doing a CTRL-ALT-DEL to the board, why it would read it after that is not clear, as it either can read the cart or it can't unless some of the caps or traces need to warm up and then make it functional...

    MVS battery super-capacitor replacement experiment.

I'm just stating the concern for 5v caps, in response to the question on longevity, as I'm sure there's a 10-20% tollerance built in, and with a charging cuircuit once it feels the voltage is high enough it should stop trying to charge it and just return to monitoring... So it'll get a little...

From what I "Understand" and have read, the whole theory of magic gate, as Sony called it, is that with the right "Key" the decryption algorithm unlocks access to the data. The Key is not universal, I'm not sure how PS2 gives access with it's key to the data. Or how it knows which key is...

    SYS2X6 USB Dongle -- System 246/256 Multi

The encryption (magic-gate) is different on PS2 vs 2x6 If you @Tonybolony want to make a thread on your process to go and write images from 246->246 dongle I would love a deeper dive into the mechanics and software required to do that.

    MVS battery super-capacitor replacement experiment.

isn't it the case with most batteries like car batteries that you have to increase the voltage to charge them, like 14.5v to charge a 12v battery, so if you have a 5v cap, and it's trying to charge the battery and pumps in 6-7v wouldn't it be better to use a 12v or 8v cap ?

Does anyone work on Neo Geo 2 slots?

From my recent observation when the upper ram is missing you just get errors (This may be specific to M4V boards slots) but when I remove the lower ram I get garbage and watch-dogging.

    SYS2X6 USB Dongle -- System 246/256 Multi

Also IDE never worked the way you have it hooked up... typically you hooked one "END" not the middle to an IDE port, most PC's had 2 so you could hook up, up to 4 devices... and then you could designate one as slave and one as master on each cable. If you chose "CS" Cable select, you would make...

If you read through this whole thread a lot of the things you want to know have been discussed, like this spreadsheet in the beginning lists what's required to run certain games. None of the games as far as I'm aware are cracked/hacked to get around any of the IO/Hardware requirements...
