    JVS Emulator

You can buy a wireless dongle to connect an xbox360 steering wheel to a pc (and likely raspberry pi as well.) Force feedback doesn't work with it when used that way.

If you mean the resistors on the transistor to invert the sense, that was answered a couple of replies before this by me.

KI2 DOM (Killer Instinct 2 Disc on Module)

I am sure this will depend upon the flash card you tested with. Modern flash cards support up to udma 7 I have seen read speeds of 60MB / sec. I doubt the ki pcb is using udma transfer modes so such a card would be overkill.

1OK in serie with the base and 56K from base to GND should work just fine. The 56K prevents the transistor from conducting due to noise and rest voltage, even when the io pin is low. Be aware that the transistor will invert the sense. If the gpio is high, the sense will be pulled low and the...

KI2 DOM (Killer Instinct 2 Disc on Module)

It does matter. Faster speed will result in faster startup times. For an arcade operator this isn't very important, but for your home console it's a nice bonus. Right next to the 44 pin connector, there are solder pads for a 40 pin ide connector. If you solder a 40 pin header in there you can...

Custom JVS I/O - MEGA JVS

On chihiro, force feedback is using the midi port. This is basically just a full duplex serial port using a strange baudrate and using opto couplers to connect the boards. The opto coupler way of connnecting is used in the midi standard as well and is well described. The same is true for the...

Black screen when attempting to boot...

Those sun supplies start to show their age. You could try a capacitor swap. The problem with an ATX is the fact that the voltages aren't adjustable. You are never sure what the output of an ATX will be exactly. Some might work fine and others might not.

Yes, just use "in game" test mode and set your cabinet to upright. The game will run with steering force feedback disabled.

KI2 DOM (Killer Instinct 2 Disc on Module)

Yes, you need a program rom with some hard drive security checks disabled. The 40 pins connector next to the 44 pin one can be used to install a normal ide harddrive or compact flash solution. Some of those compact flash adapters simply plug in the ide connector and also stand vertically on the...

Trying to fix a 400-5330 psu

If that transformer is part of a switching psu, I doubt you will find a replacement. You can try to find a replacement psu or have a look at the outputs and see if you can use another type of psu with the same output voltages and mininimum the same amount of current. On arcade psu's, the...

Aren't there 2 holes on the side the cables come out. One is for adjusting the 3V3 and the other for adjusting the 5V Ninja'd. Apparently 3

No image on New Net City/Toshiba Chassis

Maybe your boot screen will behave correctly if you feed it some edid information saying the maximum resolution is 640 x 480. There are small pcb's with an iic eeprom that can be used for that purpose. 720p could be a default when it's not receiving any edid info.

You are not the only one. I found out the hard way as well that it's best to discharge the tube anode every time you come nearby. (Even when it's to reconnect the anode wire.)

That piece that broke off shouldn't be a problem. It's just some plastic used to hold a screw that can hold the lopt on it's place so that less mechanical stress arrives on the transformer pins and it's solderings.

Reuse CF card removed from Lindbergh

And I just threw some oil on the fire.... Arcade operators aren't interested in multi's as arcade cabinets have a dedicated theme. You can't just take your outrun cabinet an run another racing game on it, so why would you need a multi? What is interesting however is a cheap repair method. If a...

Reuse CF card removed from Lindbergh

According to this site: http://sega-lindbergh.blogspot.com/ sega ended support for the Lindbergh in februari 2019. Does this mean we can freely talk about it and it's secrets now?

https://ata.wiki.kernel.org/index.php/ATA_Secure_Erase This gives an idea of it. Still haven't found the program that can do it using an usb bridge.

Reuse CF card removed from Lindbergh

I don't know the exact details, but the answer is in the ide command set. There is a command that disables security. I seem to remember it gets formatted after that to protect it's contents. So you will need something that can sent raw ide commands to the card. There is program that can even do...

PAL duplication or PAL to GAL

Is it even possible to erase and reprogram a pal? If I remember well, you can protect them against readout. If that's the case, you would need to know the logic they emulate with the pal. Sometimes they are just used as address decoder as they can replace several ttl chips doing that. Next...
