You can't load games using a nocd cart.

Yes. The UltraBIOS is fully compatible with original simms and SuperBIOS CDs. The only difference is that the Ultrasimms are compatible with a NoCD version since you don't have to write games any longer.

They are still a good company. And the people that contributed to the problems I had are no longer involved. I might go back to work in the office. Lots of good people there.

Did you erase it first? If so you probably have a short still between two pins on the chip or your adapter isn't making good contact with all pins on the chip.

There is a specific bios for nocd for UltraBIOS. There is nocd and cd available for both standard and custom. At this time there is no option to bypass region select or Darksoft text.

Sound pot. That's the extent of my knowledge of the pcb workings. Lol.

If it turns out to be a motherboard issue there is little I can do to help.

You can send it back to me and I'll swap it out. EDIT: That particular fault (smearing gfx) looks like two ddress lines shorting actually. I fixed one doing the exact same thing but the short was two pins on the underside. If it was a missing signal there would be missing lines or bars...

I could not reproduce this using the ultrasimms in standard mode.

I know my test pcb starts messing up sometimes after switching games several times in a row. I have to let it sit like 30 minutes and everything is hood again. Could be a rom failing as it warms up?
