    Weird System 256 issues

Hmm ... I guess I *could* turn the voltages up, but the way I ususally test things is with a PC power supply, which has enough juice to power any and all boards I've ever had. I have a hard time believing a stock PSU in a Sys 256 cab outputs 5.7V, but what do I have to lose? Haha. Oh, and I do...

    Weird System 256 issues

This is the info I went by. For JAMMA, I set the jumpers to OFF, ON, ON, OFF. The voltages seem to check out. I took it completely apart, gave it a good clean and will test it again this evening. If it fails to boot, I'll have to keep it for "parts". If something has failed on the boards itself...

    Weird System 256 issues

After cleaning the Tekken 5 dongle contacts, I also tried other games with different dongles, all confirmed working. Behavior is always the same. No matter which drive, game, dongle, fan plugged in or unplugged, supergun or inside of the Blast City, What is the correct jumper configuration for...

    Weird System 256 issues

Replaced the drive with a confirmed working one, tried different games I know work, tried different PSUs, one of which has no trouble running even the biggest of the old and power hungry bootleg boards.

    Weird System 256 issues

Got a Sys 256 from China two days ago, and for the life of me, I can't figure this thing out. I'm assuming some kind of damage, but it's wildly inconsistent in how it behaves. Here's what's going on: I get seven beeps at startup pretty much every time, then I may or may not get the blue - black...

New CPS3 Simms! 8 times the size of a regular SIMM

Definitely interested. Those CPS3 flash times are a bummer. Not that I change games that often, but when I do... those 45 minutes are a real boner killer. Haha.

Everten Taito F3 IO Board (Stereo Audio + CPS2 kick)

ST-V and now this? Sign me up for one, for sure. RCA plus Capcom's kick harness is perfect for my cab.

    SYS2X6 USB Dongle -- System 246/256 Multi

I'm down for one, now that I have a System 246 on the way.

    Tekken 2 sound issues... Help

That's another story, then. Your earlier reply didn't specify it was the TK2 board along with the ROM. The way it sounds, though, it can be a minor fault, like that broken pin on my board. I'm not even sure how you can break a pin on that thing, because it's "protected" by the B board, but my...

Micro SD Card Extension Cable - No need to open case to change SD card

I think we've been all doing this for years. The minute I got the multi I knew I needed an extension, because there was no way I was going to open the B board case every time I wanted to add new files. I didn't want to cut or otherwise damage the original case, so I took the plastic casing off...

    Tekken 2 sound issues... Help

Yeah, I'd check that wave ROM. I'm assuming the sound is equally bad both from the JAMMA edge and through RCA? If it's a busted trace, broken pin or whatever on that ROM, the issue will persist even with a new A board.

    Tekken 2 sound issues... Help

Coincidentally, I've had a Tekken 2 board with sound issues. It would help if you posted a video, so that we could have a listen. Muffled sound might be caused by a fault in the audio circuit, but if at least some sounds play correctly, it might also be an issue with the sample ROM. My issues...

Vendetta 4 Player to 2 Player Conversion

I did google around before posting, but I find it's always best to ask for first hand experience than try to piece things together from searches. Either way, it would appear only one chip needs to be swapped, and like Ace said, it's the 17c. It basically swaps the player count and / or region. A...

Vendetta 4 Player to 2 Player Conversion

I have a Vendetta board in the mail and it's the 4 Player version. While there's nothing inherently wring with the game itself, the 4P version doesn't let you pick your character freely. It has the characters assigned to players 1 - 4, which means P1 will always play as Blood, P2 as Hawk, P3 as...

    Oedo Fight Bloodshed Conversion

Status update! Finally got the chips and I have to say, I wish all of my projects went this smoothly. The conversion is officially a success! All I had to do was to replace ofp1j3.513 and ofp0j3.514 with the Bloodshed ROMs. Two 27C4001s, a MiniPRO, MAME Bloodshed files and it's done. I posted...

Saturday Night Slam Masters - Secret Photo DIP

Thanks to the invaluable help of @Apocalypse we now have an answer! I did test it, and it works just as Apocalypse explains it to. With "FOR PHOTOGRAPHING" enabled, the game will be frozen for as long as the COIN1 input is maintained. Aside from the coin mech, many cabs have a coin button next...

BOUNTY: CPS1.5 games (with Q-Sound) on CPS2 multi

Of course! I'm not complaining. There are many other ways of playing these games on the cheap. Raspberry to JAMMA is an excellent solution for something inside of a cabinet, but at the same time it's a shame things just came to a halt. I know several people lookes at Cadillacs. It must have...

BOUNTY: CPS1.5 games (with Q-Sound) on CPS2 multi

I guess the most logical way about it would be to rank the games by the amount of interest and divide the bounty. Here's how I see it, and for the purposes of this example, let's assume the bounty is one currency and that the total is €4200. We have five games, not counting their variations, so...

BOUNTY: CPS1.5 games (with Q-Sound) on CPS2 multi

Just out of curiosity, is there someone actively working on these conversions? It feels like it's been a while since The Punisher got released, and not much has happened since the invulnerability patch. Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying "GIVE ME TEH ROMZ ALREADY". I'm just curious if the...

Saturday Night Slam Masters - Secret Photo DIP

Earlier today, Undamned posted a question about a particular setting in the Slam Masters menu. It sets the game mode to "FOR PHOTOGRAPHING". This is most likely a feature implemented for old school screen photography, preventing photo blur. When I saw this, I immediately thought of the freeze...
