Namco System 246 emulation on PCSX2

    # Update 2 Full boot process is fairly well known now (This is for Tekken): BIOS Loads BIOS loads `mc0:boot.bin` which is decrypted through magicgate boot.bin loads TC4LOAD with argument `DANGLE` (and probably does some other setup stuff) TC4LOAD decompresses and loads `mc0:TC4GAME` TC4GAME...

Namco System 246 emulation on PCSX2

    # Update 1 The boot.bin file is a magicgate-encrypted ELF with a non-standard keyset. You can tell this because It contains a KELF header (https://github.com/xfwcfw/kelftool/blob/master/src/kelf.h#L34) It won't decrypt with the standard keys (https://github.com/xfwcfw/kelftool) The keys for...

Namco System 246 emulation on PCSX2

@Franco23444 Very true, I'll add that to the list. Emulating JVS should be one of the easiest parts and would come after all the other issues I've listed about above. Funnily enough the JVS emu is probably the one thing I could do myself lol (https://github.com/openjvs/openjvs)

Namco System 246 emulation on PCSX2

A few times over the past few years I've dabbled in looking at what it would take to emulate the Namco System 246 on the PCSX2 emulator. Though random posts on various forums I've also gotten a few messages asking about if I ever got anywhere with it, so I thought this would be a good place to...

    USIO Board on PC

I'm wondering if anyone can help me, I've recently purchased a Namco 357C board and unforunately didn't realise that it doesn't support JVS for most games and that it requires a USIO board that communicates over USB. I'm crossing my fingers that this board may present itself as a normal USB...

    Switching forum software to XenForo

As an update, I cleared all my cookies/history/data for arcade-projects.com and it's not been a problem since. I wounder if an old cookie from the older forum software was conflicting with something. Thanks for everyones help!

    Switching forum software to XenForo

@evilsim Thanks for the tip! I agree with you and am confident it's a problem to do with the browser caching the session variables the website uses to authenticate me, but this doesn't happen on other websites and so it's in my opinion a problem with the xenforo software and how it handles...

    Switching forum software to XenForo

The new forum software is looking really good - thanks for the update! Sorry if this has been brought up before and I've missed it. When I visit arcade-projects.com on a new day I'll get this the first time I click on the messages icon in the top right corner. I can just refresh the page...

    JVS Emulator

OpenJVS Hat Update - 11th January 2021 Hope everyones doing well, @RedOne and I are almost ready to send the boards off to the manufacturers however we've got one small issue that we'd like to gauge everyone's thoughts on first. We are proposing that the OpenJVS Hat will ONLY support a...

    Namco System 23 - Time Crisis 2 White/Grey Screen...

I’ve been playing with it a bit and managed to get it to boot properly by replacing the CR2032 battery. I believe DIP 2 just skips the initial ram test, and if that fails it doesn’t run the screen at all. Edit: Ah no you are right, DIP 2 seems to skip the entire start up test. With that it...

Did you ever get anywhere with this? I've just received a System 23 that boots to a white screen as well.

Custom JVS I/O - MEGA JVS

Just as an FYI, there are a good number of FFB protocols for each game + system, it's not just SEGA vs NAMCO. They vary in software protocol, and hardware communication. You'd have to spend a very good amount of time reverse engineering them all. Outrun (Sega Serial) is different from WMMT...

Did Sega Outrun 2 SP ever exist for the Lindbergh?

I've done a bit more research and thought I'd just put this here for anyone else interested. The difference between the sun brightness in Lindbergh Outrun and Chihiro Outrun is due to the patching of the screen resolution to get it to run in different resolutions by whoever did the patches...

Can you "multi" a Blue Sega Lindbergh?

Yep - exactly the same, by replacing the CF card you’re replacing the windows installation with Linux. May run slower depending on what processor / graphics card you have in there, can’t remember what the blue came with.

Sega Lindbergh BLUE "Too Many Arguments" loop

@TheDeath Did you try removing the Lindbergh JVS card and booting without it? These can often stop the system booting entierly.

Did Sega Outrun 2 SP ever exist for the Lindbergh?

Thank you for this @Nomax, this makes perfect sense to me! I'm not able to find an Outrun 2 SP DX disk anywhere online, just to see if MAME has titled it correctly (They have titled it as Outrun 2 Special Tours, not Outrun 2 SP DX as I would expect) The Outrun 2 SP SDX disk is DVP-0015A. Do...

No graphics on original Chase HQ 2 Sit down Cab

@torakai Actually managed to make it work already! As he has a JVS card from the original Taito machine, he just used that I beleive. @Zebra This is the software you're mentioning: https://github.com/teknogods/JVSClient And then this is my version of the same thing for Linux, which is useful...

@nem Thank you for explaining, in which case using the multi: A Freeware Taito TypeX Multigame And finding the unencrypted game files would probably be the best way to go for this one?
