I was able to get a Tested commboard for $55 AUD from Zax Amusement in australia. I bought 2 from them. Shipping to Canada was about $50 AUD and it took about 1 month to arrive. It was well packaged, and it solved my network issue on my twin Virtual On cabinet.

...pulling out original cables and connected them directly 2 by 2 (without joining them in the middle). same issue. then tried new cable same issue. (12 feet so connected directly without having to join 2 cables as the original 5 foot cables were )

It doesn't seem to have a place to do that, but this screen blinks on for a fraction of a second right after the Network Check on boot. It seems to suggest the machines are labeled 1 and 2 correctly.
