No worries. We should have trimmed them really but the deadline was looming.

Vaporous - Revision 2025 scene demo released

Thanks for the kind words. This was a lot of fun to do especially with the help of some very good friends. Even managed to design some super fast vram loading techniques in the process. For the neogeo cd users... we're on the case. It should be possible as long as we get the cd audio sync right.

I would also wait till the final versions are done otherwise you'll be reflashing the carts.

If you're gonna buy from Ali express, get them from the blaze Pro shop, half the price of that.

So yeah.. anyway, kinda ignored the thread over the last couple weeks as I've been sick but I've bounced back now. Thanks for all the lovely comments, was fun sharing the development journey here and it's great seeing people enjoy the result of the hard work. There will be a final version...

Nope and I won't even entertain the idea. The fun part of this process is digging through the original game code and data and unearthing it's structure. It's like digital archeology.

Sorry if this is a double reply. On changing characters, you can only do this if you are in 2 player mode and the continue timer runs out. This is how the arcade works. As for 2 player mode, this was tested extensively on real hardware so... I dunno.

100% ASM and no, I'm not releasing the source code.

If you're in two player mode, you can wait for the timer to run out and start a fresh game with a different character.

No need for a video. Fully aware of what's going on, just couldn't get the code to run fast enough to svoid it for all cases. So here we are.

Going to do a short stream tomorrow so we can package this bad boy up and get it released. In the mean time, enjoy the Neo Geo CD version with epic orcehstral soundtrack by Richard Douglas.

Thanks for the offer dude but I already have a sizeable team of golden axe professionals and owners of a super wide varaiety of neo geo hardware. Shouldn't be long now though.

It's mostly just following the documentation on the dev wiki. Biggest help is testing it in mame with a couple extra games either side to make sure it plays nicely.

Been a bit quiet of late. Went to a demoparty last weekend then got sick. Started feeling a little better today so finally tackled the spaghetti code that is this bloody thing! Additionally I've managed to add proper MultiSlot support so ( at least in mame ) it plays well with other carts...

and yes, I'm aware everuy It was a squeeze fitting the arcade soundtrack on mvs as it is, this is far too detailed for that. Also we really do have to dig the cd users, like me, something a little extra right?

Bingo! Look I'm an audio guy at heart and while it does pain me slightly to "cheat" the music this way and leave 4 channels of FM completely unsued, it's a means to an end. I blame the NeoGeo for having such a huge ADPCM ROM :D
