Not familiar with the reballing process, so maybe this is an obvious question. What about stealing a whole/working GPU from a donor board and attaching it to the broken one? Or is reballing required reguardless?

@AMS I received a Naomi1 and ended up with the same situation. Is replacing the GPU worth trying? Do you have any GPUs in stock?

That's roughly what I did. I did a ton of minor work and left this for last because I was nervous. Fears confirmed. Hard work.

Found a cheap Naomi on eBay with a failing IC22. Ordered replacement chips and attempted to replace.. but failed. Broke several pins during replacement. Ordered a new Naomi1, which arrived today... Like this: Me rn: ☹️

Thanks! Can you provide some detail about yours? Is it tested working? Have you recently tested the voltages? Has it ever been recapped or had any kind of maintenance? Are any wires included? The last one I saw sold a few weeks ago, sold for 85 shipped and had a lot of preventative maintenance...

The blue light ended up just being part of the flash. Turned out the USB pins were fine. Root cause here ended up being a little silly. Two problems. 1) I had bought two different rs485 adapters and apparently neither of them were performing to spec. Had someone recommend a third adapter that...

Do you know if IC22 is directly related to the boards ability to interface with JVS? I'm nervous to attempt that chip swap if it's unrelated to the JVS problem. Maybe I have to replace it eventually anyhow. Just trying to be systematic before I attempt the micro soldering.
