yea, you can easily see it and the solder joints through the rear access door.

You have just a backup neckboard? Swapping them requires some work, at that point you kind of have the whole chassis out.

Should be easy to start looking at the neckboard. Get some good lighting and look at the neckboard for any obvious cracked joints. You can do this without removing the chassis or monitor. If you don't see any, then you will have to take the chassis out and inspect that.

I suspect it could be one or more bad level shifters, similar to how the cps2 multi can have level shifter failures?

Using MV1FZ mobos. I should add, It was working before.

I did update the firmware and menu and the symptoms remain the same. To add to symptoms, the games also have missing graphics and sprites. The jail bars you see in the menu disappear when a game loads but the game has missing graphics and sprites.
