    Blast City grounding issue

I tried to plug it other way but there is no difference. Still get the same 230V and 130V from the ground and other socket. I have two of these stepdowns and both of them have the same issue. These were pretty expensive and made for Japanese Hi-fi ehnthusiastics. Might be some kind of designs...

Ahh ok, yea those give 0V AC when I measured them. I think the issue is this

    Blast City grounding issue

I tried from my wall socket and with hot and ground I get 230V from there too. Only difference with the stepdown is that it gives 130V with neutral and ground where wall socket gives 0V. I have two of these stepdown transformers and both of these give that 130V with neutral and ground, so I...

    Blast City grounding issue

I have this pretty beefy Stepdown and when I read it from the flat terminals it's about 100v BUT when I connect the multimeter to ground and either of the flat terminals I get either 130v or 230v And for the 2nd question, YES my control panel has continuity for my house ground.

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

So should this give 0 VAC instead of 230V? Red probe is on ground. This is an old house (1952) and it still has couple of rooms without grounded wall outlets so there can be any kind of "wiring" done. Even my stepdown gives me 130V when connecting ground and other of the flat sockets. Or...

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

Made a new thread for my issue. Like I said, in the end it did not have anything to do with MiSTercade. https://www.arcade-projects.com/threads/blast-city-grounding-issue.28980/

    Blast City grounding issue

Long story short, between my Blast CIty JAMMA ground, and cabinet ground (cables screwed to the floor) goes 170V AC live, and I would like to fix this. This whole thing started with MiSTercade remote, since I always got small electric shocks from the remotes metal casing when I touched it and...

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

Just confirmed with multimeter that I get 168V AC between my JAMMA ground from the JAMMA edge and Blast City cabinet floor ground, so I will move this problem to another thread.

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

And I just tested with my Tekken cabinet (found ground inside it from the metal plate where counters etc are) and there is no voltages between the MiSTercade remote and that ground. Continuity gives *peep* that both are ground. So this problem has probably nothing to do with MiSTercade, it was...

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

It made no difference even when I took the MiSTercade out of the cabinet. I still get that 170V AC from cabinets screws. It seems that cabinet it self uses 3 prong cable, so it should be grounded from the step-down transformer. All the cables that come from the CRT part seem to be in good...

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

I'm from EU so sockets are 220v but this goes through 100v stepdown so yeah, this sounds like CRT chassis leak or something... I will try those steps that you provided later and lets see how it goes.

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

OK so there is definitely something shady going on in here. I measured AC from MiSTercade remote ground to my Blast City screw and there is hot/live going in there. There is 170V AC running between them, thats why I have been getting shocked :D Control panel grounding looks pretty normal...

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

Yea this is not due to static electricity, it shocks me every time the cabinet is on and I touch the remote and screw or metal part of the Blast City. Perhaps somewhere live is touching the cabinet ground? Or is it because of the Japanese socket which is not grounded and I use isolation...

MiSTerAddons MiSTercade - MiSTer for JAMMA cabinets

My MiSTercade works just fine, but I have a small issue with the remote. It gives me electric shocks every time I touch remote metal casing and my Blast City control panel metal screws :D It even reboots the whole MiSTercade if the remote casing touches this screw (and I saw small electric arc...
