Hi everyone, I just got this CPS-3 mainboard, it's working great. I open up the plastic cover on mainboard and found the 1/2AA battery inside. What is the purpose of this battery? How to replace with new one? Can it harm the mainboard if taken out?

Problem solved after re-capped. All jailbar dark strips gone.

Re-cap and reflow on chassis or only neck board? My technician inspected all Capacitors and he said the voltage is good.

I solved this issue. The ABL was culprit!! ABL stands for Automatic Brightness Limiter. Increasing this knob on Chassis (it placed on right hand side from behind along with other knobs) and the issue solved.

My Nanao MS-2930 monitor have “Barrel Distortion” issues as in following pictures; . I think the one of these knob on chassis should fix this issue. But I want to know exactly which one control this since the far side knobs is very hard to reach :( . Any help would be appreciated!

My NEC PC-TV455 (old CRT monitor) from Japan used to have cigarette smell. Aftrer use it for a month, the smell gone. No worries.

I double checked the screen pot last night. The picture became darker when I turn counter-clockwise, seems like contrast improve a little bit but the picture loss details in gray area (all resulting in black). However, when the screen "flash" the tube still shutdown.

Apparently it completely black. I checked at the cathode tube, the heater stop working until turn off/ turn on back again.

I just recapped Nanao MS2930 due to "black goop leakage" on the chasis. All capacitor I used is 85 degree specs. . After recapped, cleaning and reassembly to the cab there was some issue. . I tested with CPS2 and MVS when start the game (RAM check screen, capcom logo etc.) there is no problem...
