21" CRT - Need 2nd opinion

21" CRT
Original chassis had flyback shorted.
Had the chassis replaced with a cheap chineese one.
Geomery looks perfect, but the colors are completly off.
Degauss does nothing.

I guess the tube is way over it's usefull life?
Or I'm missing smth?

Have you tried a degaussing wand?

Maybe the Chinese chassis isn't driving the coil with enough power (or at all).

The chinese chassis does not have degaus coil circuit at all, but I have salvaged it from the original one and connectd back.
Degauss works (it's basically connected to AC via a fuse and thermistor).

I have tried magnets, but looks like they are just not strong enough.

You're right!
Magnetic distortion goes away, when the monitor is placed in cocktail mode.
I have no idea how monitor orientation affects magnetism.

I guess I have to tune the colors and. figure out why the picture turns brown/yellowis after a minute or so.
Would be quite a task, given those pots are not accessible when the cabinet is closed.
