This housing will be for a Pi with Adafruit LCD+Keypad module, basically what is used most often for Pi-Force-Tools or a NAOPi setup. There are NO SCREWS involved with this, like my other recent designs it snaps together without any fasteners. v1 is for old Pi 1v2 is for the Pi2/Pi3 and the redesigned Pi1 B+

I'd take one for sure. Blue for N2?

unfortunately the Pi1 was given very little thought in terms of enclosure design, it has no secure mounting points to speak of. it's also completely different in terms of it's layout and mounting position with the LCD/keypad module so if I were to build an enclosure I would have to redesign the whole thing from scratch.

Thankfully they redesigned the Pi after that and every model since has used the same layout. So my options were to design an enclosure for just the P1 or design an enclosure that worked with the B+, 2, 3, and potentially future models. Also there are 4 enclosures available on thingiverse for the Pi1 with the lcd/keypad and none for the newer model Pi (one exists but it's a paid design). so these factors together made the decision clear.

I might look into building a Pi1 version later but I want to get this settled first before I start looking at that.

I wasn't planning on it. Where exactly would you see them mounting?

if you're just looking to mount it to the mdf that your NAOMI is mounted to that is easily done with the design as-is. the bottom of the case slides into place from the side, similar to my CPS2 LCD housing. so you'd simply put 2 screws through the back door into mdf then slide the rest of the housing into place.

you'd probably want to drill pilot holes to keep the plastic from cracking and you'd want to use low profile or countersunk screw heads but that's partly why I designed these cases this way.

A friend has a new 3d printer and is looking for usefull projects to print, so it doesn't waste wire in useless things, i would be glad to use those files, it seems really nice !

I'll need to figure out the actual materials cost but the print time is similar to the GDEMU trays so I'd say around $20 give or take a dollar or two.

This is really awesome! I'm still using a laser cut acrylic case for mine and I hate it. This will be getting printed as soon as you release it!

I've got the Pi1 design pretty much nailed down:

only thing I don't really like is the slotted holes for the composite and audio ports but it's unavoidable since this PCB has ports sticking out on all 4 sides.

The SD card here is a micro SD in one of the Adafruit shortening adapters: https://www.amazon.com/Adafruit-Shortening-microSD-Raspberry-Macbooks/dp/B00HV4YFYU

even this sticks out more than I'd like but the full sized cards are much worse.

There's also this super short adapter that probably would sit flush: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B015130F78/
though it is $12

I was unsure how these would look in silver but I think it's rather "dapper" :P

I'm printing some white ones right now... looking forward to seeing how they turn out.
