Another Chinese multi-CPS1 question. Kick-harneses... anyone get theirs to work?

So after finally breathing life back into my 32-in-1 CPS1 board, I'm realizing that I've never played some of the games on it because I never got the kick-harness working. So before I put it back in my cabinet, I was wondering if anyone has ever figured this out?

There are two connectors towards the back of the B-board, with the correct number of pins to be kick-harnesses, but they're not... this is the "instructions" I got, but at least for me it seems to not work as expected (three wires, one for each player).

Have you tried the actual cps1 kick harness pinout including grounds? https://wiki.arcadeotaku.com/w/CPS1,_CPS2_&_CPS3_Connectors

An actual kick harness connector won't fit, due to the plastic tab at the back of the connector on the B-board. But thinking you may be onto something there... shorting pin 2 to pin 9 does register as P2 button 6. But not sure which way it's wired, meaning ground could be what I'm thinking of as pin 9 resulting in reverse wiring. Will have to experiment more.

Confirmed, it's just regular CPS1 kick-harness wiring. Pins 3/4/5 shorted to pin 1 results in player 1 button 4/5/6.

I cut off the back of my CPS1 kick harness connector because, of course, the connector is built backwards.

After slicing it off with a razor, it fit right on.
