I have a cps3 motherboard that for the most part work. The problem I have is there are wired green line on the screen. Any idea where I should start looking?

One of the big chips (likely the PPU one) has loose pins. That error on the screen is caused by disconnection on at least one of the pins.
That happens due to heat over years and years of operation or by flexing the board while it's not mounted on the cab.

You need to take the board to someone who can properly re-heat and reflow the solders making the pins connect again.

I have reflow all the custom ic using the drag meathod. No change. I'm to cheap to send it out for repair and like to do things hand on. If I don't fix this myself it will become my battery changing rig.

It can also be a "minor" video ram problem, because CPS3 seem to use a frame buffer approach on it's video generation circuit...

Chips 1D to 5D are video RAM. 8E and 9E are palette RAM. 9F is a RAM too.

Thank you. I'll start with the video ram 1st then move to the palette. I take it the last one is work ram?

Have you tested the memory on the game service menu? does the simm sticks pass test?

I have done that. Memory check show simm 1 and 2 as ng. Simm check show simm 1 ng only. I get the same resault on my good setup and even if I swap the Simms. I might just have to put it on hold as use it as my battery replacement rig only.
