So I decided to dust off my Chihiro and set it up for netbooting.

I discovered that the image for GBOS will only boot on a 1GB setup. After that though when the game runs it gives me an error about having the wrong network firmware on my media board stating it wants 12.9, my media board is 13.04.

Has anyone else got this game running? if so what did you do to get past this?

Its a game I'm interested in learning more about, but since I've only got driving cabs and currently only 512MB Chihiros (I know they can be converted, but then I have to manage 1GB versions of everything else), I never tried booting it.

I actually found that most of the 1GB game images are barely bigger than the 512MB images... There are a couple of games that wont run on 512MB setups, so it just makes sense to me to go 1GB on Chihiro.

My original Chihiro was 1GB, but had a dead stick of RAM. I've got 4 Chihiros currently, so I'd have to invest in more RAM to keep them all consistent or deal with the variations.

Anyway, not to derail the thread. I would be curious if the Gundam game can run. It was one that had me excited when I saw the rom for it, but I couldn't find much information at all about the game. Years ago I got into the Gundam game on Dreamcast, and even branched out into a couple on the Saturn. I was assuming the Chihiro game was similar where you're in a cock-pit view controlling a Gundam. Is the NAOMI game like that?

The Gundam Vs series on Sys2x6 and NAOMI uses a joystick and buttons and plays from a 3rd person/over the shoulder perspective

GBOS uses twin-stick style controls similar to Virtual On. There is also a card-reader setup.
I only know this because there was a control panel for the cab on YAJ a few years back, with the card reader mounted directly between the twin sticks. You can see this on some of the pictures of the cab online:

it looks like it also has foot-pedals and I recall seeing something in the test menu about analog initialization so that makes sense since the sticks are not analog.

I'm not really sure what the gameplay is like on this one though; it's definitely different than the Gundam Vs series.
