I got my tube swap done on the blast city and it turned out amazingly! ❤️

Question, my ms2931 (15hz/31hz auto sync) monitor works great in VGA mode via a Dreamcast or RGH 360 but now I want to try using a PS3 or anything that has an HDMI.

So I bought a high quality HDMI to VGA adapter and plugged it into a few different HDMI systems but I am having an issue getting a decent picture. From anything but VGA or jamma.

What's the prob you ask?
1) the image sync looks off and the image is split into 3 different pictures.

2) Tried adjusting the H-hold to fix the sync but it doesn't do anything.

Think I had this issue before with my k7000, I ended up getting a jpac and it fixed it but, before I go out and buy another, is there anyone who currently has a working VGA/HDMI setup in their nanao or blast city?
 
If it's split in three you aren't giving the monitor a 480p signal.
 
I think there is an option to change display resolution in ps3 settings. Try to make sure it’s set to what the blast can accept (640x480)
 
Ohhh okay, hmm.. so that might be what's up because that pic is a ps classic which I assume is 1080p going through vga.

So it sounds like I need to for sure make sure I am feeding it 640x480. (480p signal)

Hm... So if I want to use a PC (which is my plan right now to use my 2080 GeForce GPU)

I have to downscale the PCs video output settings?

This might not be a viable option @_@
May just get an older PC.

What do you all think?
 
Almost every modern video card can be set to 640*480. As can PS3, PS4, Xbox 360. No need to downscale anything.

You said you have a 360. If it's an HDMI model, try that. Just plug it into a normal TV with HDMI and change the resolution down to 640*480 then move it over.
 
Im not sure why anyone would want to look at these pictures on a blast monitor. Naomi in 31k hell yeah but PS3? Even x2 looks like shit on those. I've seen nesica set ups on a blast. Kinda sad.
 
Lol ik. . PS3 on a blast city not really necessary but, I am big on having the options.

I'll end up playing Naomi most the time or jamma but, the image attached says it all lol

My friends have made similar comments, so I think I’m in the minority when I say that I like my X2 in my 31khz NUC just fine. Granted, it has a very nice 31khz monitor.

I have an x2 hooked up to my blast for vertical games since my vewlix is being used by something else now and I love it. It’s not all that bad.
