Hello there,
Once again, a weird one,
I've came across a bootleg GnG board and it was something I could not pass, it was working flawlessly inside a cab and I had to have it (big GnG universe fan),
As soon as I get home and connect it to my poor man's arcade table with my cheapo supergun and consumer CRT I see some weird dots on Arthur, like red dots, I was like okay, must be the voltage, the board was running at 5.2v on the cab, when I lifted the board from the table the dots were gone (I have it sitting horizontally on the table, on the 4 standoffs), if I press down on the board the errors get worse, if I lift it a bit the sprites are correct,
Any ideas? :)
Thank you!

100% agree, sounds like cracked solder joints somewhere on the board. Could also be a physical crack in the board, but cold/cracked joints are much more common.

If I recall those bootlegs have about a million TTL chips on them, reflowing the whole lot sounds like a lot of work.

If it were me I'd lay it on a piece of sponge or something, wiggle it until its working as expected, then start pressing down on chips until the dots appear - hopefully the cracked joins will be somewhere around that spot.

Yeah they have soooo many chips, it's something on the upper left side, I really gotta see, there are broken traces with wires and lots of stuff that was probably repaired by someone already. Oh well, at least it's playable and I can take a look later on. :)
