I had one 256 stick in my net dimm
and upgraded it to 512 by adding a 2nd stick
I had lots and lots of trouble finding one that was compatible and the net dimm wouldn't boot or gave game errors
I'm not sure if they even support 1GB of ram

yeah it is possible, no problem, had 2x 512mb myself, but only if it is a matching pair
it also works with 1x 512mb, but never tried 1x 1GB

The question is, why do you need 1Gig of ram?
Are there naomi games that need that much of memory?
I know some chihiro games come in 512MB and 1 Gig flavours, but it's unclear if there is a difference between the 2 versions.
There are some triforce games that might need 1Gig. It would be interesting to have a list of which.

1Gig is normally 2 * 512MB sticks.
The dimm uses sdram. You will easier find 256mb and 512mb sdram sticks than you will find 1gig ones.

So, I doubt it will work but as usual would be glad to be proven wrong.

just a random question when net booting does the COMMAND window show how much MB your DIMM has before loading up a game? It keeps, sayong 512 MB net DIMM then gibberish then loads the game does that mean my net DIMM had 512? Can anyone else confirm?

Why don't you open your Net-DIMM case and see what it has in there? and then if your buddy has lots of 1GB sticks, try them out and report back with your findings.

That's what most of us do here. We can't really say if it will work because no one has tried yet.

all the 1 GB ram sticks he had where duds :/ but some this week if my machines not 512 already in it I'm going to pick up 10 random sticks of 256 and 512 just in case one does not work and if it's not listed in that thread that had confirmed it I'll let them know for future reference

Yea that's what I thought it says on the DIMM 256 and on the eBay listing 256...Haza. I tested it with the newest Melty Blood and low and behold it turned on
