Not sure what this metal box is but I dont see it bolted on the door. Has anyone removed one of these before? I want to pry it off but don't want to scratch off too much paint.
The wires are cut on the inside to it and when I opened it, it was labeled capcom on the pcb. I was thinking of maybe spraying it with goo gone or something. I want to remove it and maybe enlarge the hole a bit and make it a new spot for the multi cps2 control panel.

I'm assuming if you opened it up you confirmed that it's not bolted to the door directly. is it stuck on with double sided tape or something?

if it is adhesive you can use goo-gone and some dental floss to "saw" off the tape.

Heat helps too, when removing badges on cars I often use a heat gun and dental floss but getting heat in there would be difficult and you might risk warping near by plastic parts.

I'm sure everyone here would be interested in seeing some detailed pictures of that Capcom PCB and how it's hooked up to the rest of the cab. Given the location I'd suspect it's a credit board.

If it's adhesive, you can try and remove it a fishing line. You can also try dental floss, but those tend to break easily.

well the wires are cut. I'm guessing it's some seriously strong adhesive.

Interesting thing. Looks like IR emitters on the side? Could you work out the wiring?

Would be neat if it interfaced with a game.

The Taito Card Reader system in the E29 had an IR board similar to this integrated into the control panel. I believe it was for issuing credits remotely.
