Hi All,

I've always disliked handling bare PCBs, especially my CV1000 PCBs so I've created a printable shell for them. This is a much more affordable (and in my personal opinion, nicer looking) option over the laser cut shells that are available.

I'm sure with the higher availability of these games now these will be useful to the community :)
You can download the model from makerworld.

I'm currently also working on some nice spine stickers which i will upload at a later date. Its quite difficult to find high quality art of my liking that i want to use on the spines, hopefully high quality kit scans are shared eventually.

Very cool!

Looks great. I wonder if the game logo could go really large on the front where you have the Cave logo? Of course, then it would have to specific jobs per PCB, but still, very nice!

I love that you printed as low as possible and had the heatsink stick out, that's how I wish all those acrylic "cases" are for other PCBs, rather than how most people make it and have super high standoffs.

Anyway, bravo and Happy Holidays!

I did try that out but wasn't very happy with how it looked, much preferred the medium sized cave logo, i might give it another try sometime. But i think id like to out the effort towards the spine labels first.

As for height, that was definitely my main issue with acrylic cases, some just look silly. I did have an even thinner variant that still allowed for stacking (hence the cutouts in the bottom of the shell) but i hit the heatsinks a few times when moving games around and it didn't seem very safe.

Awesome and makes sense.

For the logo (not that I'm trying to make you do more work here!), this is for anyone messing with these, sometimes a cut out and a different color filament below it makes it pop. Since these are thin, but still have a little room (because of your hitting the heatsink comment), you probably have a little room for a thin layer of a different color.

Still, the labels also look great!

Phenomenal idea! May I suggest printing the labels with a multi-color treatment? It takes a bit of work to prepare the image for the first layer multi, but the results are quite pleasing. I’ve added some images of a person from a Facebook group who has created some amazing fight sticks.

Lastly, adding a small fan for airflow would be a great touch. Let me know if you plan to sell the files once you’re done—my wallet is ready to support your work! 👍

P.S. Feliz Navidad!🍻

CV-1000 does not need active cooling, even enclosed.

I can't view the model on phone, are there ventilation holes on the sides?

Nothing on the side, but as stated earlier i haven't noticed any heightened temps when running the boards as they already run pretty cool as is. if theres any concerns for warmer climates i can add some vents but i don't think its necessary

These were so cool I asked my friends who have 3-D printers to check it out and print me some, one friend had orange filament only, but I think it looks fantastic! When I finally meet up with him and get it on a PCB I’ll do more pictures, but for now here’s the printed product.

Waiting for the spine stickers, i will give this a go :D

Congrats and thanks for the work!

I'm going to prioritize the stickers based on what people are after.
For anyone interested, please post which game/games you would be using this for and ill work through each in order of demand :D
