I just put together two Virtual On panels (thanks again to alberto!) and I'm pretty stoked. I've always wanted to link Virtual On since net booting was available. No need to track down two copies of a game makes it much more appealing.

I had originally picked up original US Virtual On sticks, not knowing how massive they are. Since that wasn't going to work in a Japanese cabinet, and I didn't want to fork out for Saturn twin sticks to cannibalize, I took a chance on these cheapo Chinese sticks available on Amazon/Ebay.

The sticks can mount flush with the same hole spacing as a JLF (which I believe is the same as the Saturn sticks). The standard 24mm stick hole is fine. They have individual microswitches for the directions with .187 terminals (like your typical US stick). The trigger button is the white wire, top button is red, and black is the common ground. To disassemble the stick you need to be able to feed the wire through some pretty small holes. I put a 3 pin UP connector on mine and it fits through the body, but the spring, actuator, etc. can't slip off anymore. Still plenty to clean and lube if necessary. Also I had to rotate the mounting plate 90* but that's trivial.

Overall for $20 each I'm happy with them. I'm sure if you wanted to wait these are probably on aliexpress for nothing. This makes me want to put together some Outtrigger panels. If only there was a trackball alternative.
