I was looking into the CF kit above.

I’m done fucking around with GD Roms on my Chihiro 3 just to play some Outrun on my Crazy Taxi cab.

I’ve tried NetBooting with a Pi. Works great for Naomi! Can’t get it to work with Chihiro because of security chip errors.

Any other leads on a good/simple compact flash solution I can buy?
 
Following, just got 2 max tune cabs with Chihiros. Very interested to see what others are doing for this
 
Get a Chihiro-specific security key and netboot. That's what I do on all of mine. If you've already got a netboot setup, you can keep on using it.

If you want to do the custom firmware and unofficial CF card route, you'd still need a working netboot key to flash it with the updated firmware, and then a specific key for using CF.
 
If you use Darksoft's custom FW then you can use any cheap IDE CF drive, HDD or SSD to run games on Cihiro and Triforce. Probably cost like $20 to get it going.
 
Is a specific pic needed or will a zero null key used for net booting work fine with a CF/SSD setup and the Darksoft custom firmware? This is true for the Triforce as well?

The pic it's firmware for netbooting and for compact flash are not identical.
While they both have the DES key set to null, there is a difference in one of the other communication protocol answers.
