Hi guys, New member here. I have recently started to help out a local Arcade, by repairing some of the machines. I have a question about the CRT's.
I understand the process of discharging the CRT, However I'd like to know in a little more detail, what parts are dangerous.
I see some repair videos where the repair tech is non-chalant about adjusting the colors / pots on the neckboard while the monitor is on.
My questions are, which parts can zap you? Are you able to safely touch the metal chassis while adjusting the pots on the neckboard? Can the neckboard pots be touched bare handed without getting zapped? Some of the pots are really small and are difficult to reach even with a screw driver, without taking the top of the cabinet off. I'm always really nervous adjusting the pots. Lol.
Most boards I've seen here are the K7000, K7500
Thank you!
