I won that 1 player CP on yahoo a few weeks ago and was a bit disapointed when I finally got it since I discovered it's a repro. It was expensive regarding its so bad condition. I paid it more than 350$ but the seller didn't specified that's a repro, he only wrote it's refurbished. A bad seller to me. Not a japanese way to sell on Yahoo. Btw it's not a so bad thing since it permited to me to see one from more close, and get more familiar with these reproductions, now I know how looks a fake Astro CP like.
I've bought some original 1 player Sega CPs and I want to replace their former overlays by an Astro overlay, but the main plate will be the original one and that's the most important point regarding the actual possibilities we all have there. The overlay of a real CP is hard to remove, but the one of a repro is quite easy. I confess the adhesive of the repro overlay is not so bad since it adheres to the plate well enough.
1. is it possible to get an overlay with a ticker laminate, more close to the originals?
2. that overlay was probably released in Japan (maybe it was an oversea repro imported to Japan by the bad guy who sold it at that high price, who knows...) and it would be great to get in touch with a company who can make national overlays. Maybe one of yours who live in Japan knows such a company?

p.s. about the secure hinge : some original panels don't have it (Blast for exemple).

That's a legit Seimitsu panel with original overlay made under license from Sega. I just compared to a pair I bought directly from Seimitsu in 2011. Everything is the same, the missing hooks, the welded mounting plate for the stick, the overlay that has that grain effect, etc. Looks like someone put a new coat of paint on the back, but the original paint scratches really easily too.

You can sleep well tonight knowing it is of Japanese origin.

Yeah I was worrying hahaha! Thanks for these precisions. So Seimitsu sold these panels in 2011? Ive contacted them a few years ago but they stopped the production. Would you sell one of yours? It looks much greater than mine.

Alberto moved the button layout a bit further on his panels to leave place to its mounting plate which he did crossed to fit all kind of plates so he don't want to produce new overlays since he has only one negative. I'm using an original plate which I use to put a repro overlay on it so I need the correct distance between the button layout and the stick hole. Ive found another guy who do overlays which respects the layout.
