Has anyone yet managed to find a reliable supplier of NOS incarnations of the titled CPS1 'A' board custom?
 
There are several topics talking about it here.
Bought some (few dozens) several years ago.
 
No sorry, used all of them and sold most of my complete A+B+C stacks.
Then I had a look 2 or 2.5 years later to buy some more chips and prices were too high to be worth the repair.
 
Ah well, thanks. Maybe one day somebody will make a reproduction?

We're all hoping for that. But I honestly doubt it will happen soon. See, CPS1 was a hugely popular platform and failure rate is extremely high too. Still nobody seems to be interested in taking up the challenge.

Hello,

The CPS1 from Capcom, as we all know, was a great system, host of many glorious games from the late 80s/early 90s such as Ghouls'n Ghosts, Final Fight... And Street Fighter II of course!

It's also infamous for its custom chips having a very high failure rate, with no replacement as of today, turning valuable hardware in paperweights...

In late 2019 @WydD (Loic Petit) took the challenge to fully reverse CPS2, boards and custom chips, including the two also used on CPS1. And he did succeed, what an incredible effort towards preservation!

It surely helped develop the...
