So since I don't have a four player setup (only single player console on my Vewlix) I had built a cable with the intent of using the filter board kick harness as a pass through for player one.

Any reason this shouldn't work? Far as I know, the connectors on the filter board are passive. But thought I'd double check before powering on.

I'm not sure what you are trying to do. Player 1 controls are on the JAMMA card edge connector.

Mine I connected the kick harness on bottom connector on multi board but I didn't connect to filter board.

Just trying to make cable management easier and planning on building an enclosure for the system. Was thinking of using the player 3 & 4 kick harness pass through connections for players 1 & 2. Can't think of any reason this shouldn't work, but looking for opinions.

Like I said above, the inputs for players 1 & 2 are on the JAMMA edge (where your minigun supergun is connected). How are you putting them through the kick harness pass through? And why is that desirable? ?(

Because it was not designed too...
Player 1 and Player 2 are on the JAMMA edge, unless you are talking about SF2 in which case buttons 4,5,6 for each player (1 & 2) are on that top most connector.
As you have a single player cab, your only concern should be wiring up player-1's kicks (buttons 4,5,6) using that connector (your supergun should have a connector for these extra buttons).

The JAMMA has buttons 1, 2 & 3... I'm just trying to relocate the kick connectors (buttons 4, 5 & 6) from the back of the "B" board to the front for easier access.

Correct, but the two connectors on the front are pass through (unless I'm misunderstanding). So I'm running the 4, 5 & 6 buttons through the filter board. Just to relocate the kick connector from the top/rear of the "B" board to the front.

In that case you are using the filter board pass through connectors for the exact thing they were designed to do.

Unfortunately, it's not working as I wanted it to. I thought the two sub connectors were for kick harnesses, but I'm now I'm thinking they are for player 2 & 4 only. If that's the case, is a SF2 style "C" board needed for buttons 4,5 & 6?

In your picture above you have the cable plugged into the wrong connector. Kicks are on CNI02

Huh... fair enough. I would think I would see them via player 2 input in the test screen though, but that might be due to not having a ground pin for player 2 since only player 1 is wired up.

Kicks for both player 1 & player 2 are on the same connector.
