What kind of chips do I need to burn to swap it out? I might try this out since there doesn't seem to be much interest or am I asking too much? thanks.

The cheapest pin compatible chips are the ST 27C4002:

I don't get it. What's there to do?

Order the two chips programmed from the link above, receive them, open up the cartridge case, remove the original two program roms, insert the new roms, close the case. Profit?
 
Maybe he means it will add cost on top of the cost, as in another $20-30? It would be "cheap" if you had the two EPROMs already and a way to write the yourself.

Maybe? I have no idea.
 
If you don't have an EPROM programmer BuyICnow is a decent option. 2-3 roms to program which is $4.95 + 0.30 cents to have them program it. Shipping is more expensive at $6.50. Grand total of 11.75 USD.

Either go this way or buy a full on EPRom burning kit (which is not cheap) and source your roms on ebay.
 
Bought from there many times and have never had a problem.. sometimes can take a bit of time but have always received a good service for them and for the price it’s a no-brainer
