Cps2 Pal Programming

Hi folks

Ive just done a board conversion to street fighter zero but burning the appropriate pal for the game is a grey area for me so i have to confess my ignorance here

I've got the Pal E Jedec file from Pldarchive and a tl866 ii plus programmer can this programmer be used to burn the correct pal?

In the drop down menu the tl866 says it supports GAL16V8A to D and noticed on Pldarchive where i got the Jedec file from its says taget device GAL16V8, so will this write to a GAL16V8D ok and is it just a matter of loading the jedec file and hitting program?

Also when buying those chips does it matter about speed and the last 2 letters after V8** as they are listed as GAL16V8DLP-7, GAL16V8DLP-15 and GAL16V8DLP-25 and some have LPN etc.

They’re erasable so go for it! Yes it’s just loading the profile and writing the Jed. For speed you want same or faster as original which I think was -15(ns).

Also I prefer these as they’re a currently manufactured equivalent that you can buy new vs taking a gamble on recycled GAL16v8 from eBay https://www.digikey.com/en/products/detail/microchip-technology/ATF16V8B-15PU/1118926
