I was given a CPS2 A board that had a physically blown TD62064 7A, and after replacing it and testing I got a huge buzzing sound.

On a cold boot in the sound menu I get the volume control and up down works (has no effect on buzz volume), but after a few seconds, it does not appear if I reboot and go back to sound menu.
The buzzing sound changes if board stays on for longer, and it also happens with no game.

Hey good point, flew over my head.
Stereo RCAs do work fine. After a while the volume indicator still disappear, but volume buttons still do work.
So it would be something on the final stage of amplification. That's good news.

Tested with an earphone and I have sound up until the power amp, so I guess it is the suspect. Will have to confirm with owner for the repair
BTW after looking at schematic I'm surprised they didn't bother with a mono mixing for the jamma out, would have taken like, 2 or 3 more resistors ? Theres even an unused opamp on the R channel that simply feedbacks with no output...

Finally received replacement amp, and it was indeed the fault. Board has working JAMMA sound now, and volume indicator still shows after several minutes and power cycles.
Thank you. It’s my board. Forgot to tell Hyass that sound was working through rca.

Thanks for the repair.

I owe you one.
