CPS2 Suicide Battery B Board and Infinikey Questions

Hello everyone, I'm currently a noob to CPS2 hardware and currently own CPS2 MVC board and I have a few questions regarding CPS2 suicide battery. Once a battery dies and its shows a solid colored screen that means the board is dead? From what I read and understand is that once battery dies there is info that gets erased/lost on board and makes it a dead board. and only way to fix is installing a new battery but also having to get phoenix roms or avalanche roms in order to play board. Now when it comes to the Infinikey, if I have a dead board and I just install a infinikey it should revive the board? Hope I was clear on my questions and thank you.

yes, it will. You can remove the battery and the infinikey will write the key on each startup of the board.

Okay so what im understanding is that if a board has been dead for a while i and a infinikey is installed then there is no need to rewrite the eproms with phoenix/ avalanche reprograming?
