Hello, popped in my cps3 (looks new) but have this issue. Almost as If the colors are negative. No colors present on the color test screen, but red is very much there on other screens as well as green.

Weird.

How long have you had the board? Has it always been this way since you got it, or working fine up until now

looks like you have no green. The color bars are all messed up too which is a bit concerning.

Anyhoo, if I lose a color first thing i check is gear and connections. If you haven’t already it might be worth putting a known good board in your (awesome!) cab just to check there is no damage to the JAMMA harness, or the green transistor in the monitor hasn’t given up, or anything like that. Then I clean the JAMMA edge to make sure all the connections are making good contact.

As I said above, those color bars are very odd, but always best to start with the simple stuff

I have tested other boards on this cab and all work fine.

I ran the diagnostic tests and all check out except for Color Ram is testing bad saying:
NG 240800000

Im thinking this is a bad custom chip on the mobo 😪

Any idea who may be able to fix this for me??

probably just need to swap out the
KM681002 - Samsung Electronics KM681002 128k x8 SRAM (SOJ32). This is the 'Color RAM' in the test mode memory

Agree. It’s going to be one of these guys.

Or same thing off another board

Removing them without damage is a reasonably skilled job, but because they are SOP32 1mm pitch you could just clip the legs and clean up with braid

Replacing them should be possible without special tools, but you’ll want to know your way around a soldering iron pretty well.

Replacement parts can come from e-bay /etc for not much $$

Given that working CPS3 boards are selling for well over $US1000 now this is worth fixing, even if you have to send it away.

Thanks for the suggestion guys, it's much appreciated. I'm just glad this thing isn't 100% dead.
I'm not that versed with a soldering gun so not to risk further damage or a shitty job, any idea who I may be able to send it off to??
