CPS3 Minor Graphical Issue

Howdy!

New first time cps3 owner here! Bought this darksoft modded board from an ebay listing in France, and was over the moon when everything arrived fully functioning!

After I've played through the ar ade ladder a few times just messing around, I found some slight irregular graphical issues. On the post round stats screen for 3rd strike, of your meter goes into the red for any of the categories, it only has one pixel pf red instead of filling the bar.

And then the post arcade run stats screen the stage numbers become garbled as it goes on.

Any ideas/support? I've ensured all of the simms are seated correctly. This is a no cd darksoft setup, so when I do the simm check, it shows simms 1&2 as NG. Is this normal?

SIMM 1&2 showing NG on Darksoft is expected behavior.

I wonder if someone can reproduce this on their Darksoft board... it could be some weird bug that nobody ever picked up on.

Outside of re-flashing your SIMMS with a CD SuperBIOS/UltraBIOS cart & seeing if that clears it up, my guess is one of two:

• One or more of your SIMM edges might be dirty & not making good contact. I would take the SIMMS out & clean the contacts on both sides of each of them with high-grade rubbing alcohol or some type of proper electronics cleaner (Deoxit).
• One of your 128 MB SIMMS might have a loose flash chip that needs to be reflowed.

To me, I highly doubt the board is dying as it looks like the affected data isn’t spreading to background layers, etc as you’re running your setup.
