Hello everyone,

I got ahold of a Crazy Taxi Naomi cart for a reasonable price from a private arcade collector. I booted it on my Naomi 2 after cleaning the case and it works flawlessly; however I noticed the coin settings reset when I swapped the cartridge out from Wild Riders and move two pins around from Push/Pull to the CT Shifter.
Now, I know the in-game settings and high scores become erased when swapping carts (alongside calibration) as the Naomi sees new software, but when I swapped from 18 Wheeler to Wild Riders, the Naomi was still set on #27 (free play which is what all my PCBs are set on).

Is it just the way the game was designed? Is there another variant of the game that saves the coin settings? Or is my CR2032 battery low? Maybe there is a ROM hack somewhere? Let me know. I can live with changing the calibration each cart swap (the pots in my wheel and pedal unit don't quite have the proper ranges 30H-D0H), but would love to retain coin settings.

It depends on the game which settings are initialized and which are left alone.
I found some useful hacks by DragonMinded that defaults free play per cartridge. I did this with the program eprom in my Crazy Taxi cart, burned the new bits to the chip, and it works great! I will be doing the same with the other current Naomi carts I have.

I bet I could patch the calibration somewhere in those eproms when I swap carts too. I tend to have 18 Wheeler calibrated from 00H to FFH, whereas with Wild Riders and Crazy Taxi, I usually keep them from 30H to D0H.
