Dariusburst ACEX crackling/popping speakers

Heya, recently the speakers on our ACEX cab have started to die out. There's a consistent loud popping and crackling sound from both speakers the whole time the cab is running - I'm hoping to narrow down what's specifically causing the issue, since it's possible it's faulty speakers, but I have a hunch that the sound card is starting to die on it. The game audio itself is still perfectly fine, and the popping is still audible when the volume pot is turned down completely, which is why I'm thinking it might be the sound card failing instead of both speakers failing at once. Thought I'd ask before I start taking out and replacing parts - has anybody ran into something similar before? Any suggestions for things to try?

I am by no means an expert, but I have done my fair share of tech troubleshooting. I would check the wiring to ensure the connections are good and the wire integrity. You could try disconnecting wires from the speakers and connecting them to other known good speakers. If the sound issue is the same, you can test the wires outside of the cabinet with another audio setup. If a known good setup has the same issue, your wires may be at fault. You can try the same scenario with the speakers as well. This will help you diagnose the issue with working items you may already have without having to shell out for replacement parts. If it’s the sound board, perhaps some of the solder points need resoldered or perhaps capacitors need replaced. Interested in hearing how your analysis goes. Good luck!

I had a cab at one point and the popping was due to the 3.5mm audio cable between the motherboard and the amp.

I cleaned the jacks with alcohol. Didn't even need to replace the cable.

This is an awesome cabinet. Got to try it out yesterday in Akihabara! The sound is incredible just like the gameplay!
