Hey all,

I got a free RE2 from a friend because they couldn't get it working. I pulled the SSD out of the system, chucked it into another system and it's not even showing up in the BIOS of that system, so I believe it is toast. It runs perfectly fine otherwise but just needs a replacement drive. Does anyone have a drive or copy of game data that I could put onto another drive? I've been searching around with not much info unfortunately. Would hate to just toss this just due to a bad drive.

I think Ring stuff is all BitLockered so that's probably gonna be a no, unless you get a DM from certain people offering to sell you re-keyed drives.

Did you try the multi? Not sure if it works on RE2.

The drive is locked using ATA Password locking. Until it's unlocked it won't provide much in the way of data to the host PC.

Have you tried going into system recovery mode by holding down the SERVICE and TEST buttons on the back of the PC whilst powering it on?
This will usually repair drive issues - if that is indeed the cause of the problem.

All the links to the multi image seems to be dead, at least the ones I can find. If you're willing to share I would love to grab a copy.

I have tried that - Unfortunately the RingEdge just sits there and does nothing. I suspect the controller or firmware on the stock SSD is kaput (as I mentioned, putting it in another PC doesn't even have it show up in the BIOS; unless ATA locking prevents it from showing up there, but I doubt that!) - I haven't even tried to mount the drive on a running OS or anything like that, I can't event get it to show up in the BIOS to begin with!

Another thing that supports my theory is that I decased the SSD, and felt the ICs on the SSD and the controller chip got very hot, very fast, so I think something is shorted internally, unfortunately.
