What's new

Do you understand a PCBs real pixel count? If so, please read and reply!

GoldenRiver,
i have tried your settings and they are phenomenal. but i have a small bug, my setup is orig board MvC with phoenix edition ROMS and HAS 4.1.
As soon as there is movement on the screen, a vertical line is visible, the upper and lower half of the picture are no longer in sync.
I only get this fixed if i use a resolution other than 384x240. My TV cannot 5x 1600x1200. I only get a picture when I use 1920x1200 (1920x1080 does not work either, the picture freezes).

any suggestion? Thank in advance

here are a few pictures: (yeah i know my LG OLED is crap, have burn ins and the colors are way off :))

No idea re: your vertical line problem, but your pixels do look amazing. :D. Glad these settings mostly worked for you.

My guess is you need a Line5X capable display to get the full benefit & likely eliminate your issue.

OK, took a week or two off and had to get back to this. I realized my stupid HDMI cable for my RT4K was a 1.4, so I've fixed that and back to the testing.

@buffi any progress on your end?

Uh on what exactly? :)

I didn't really find any good old logic analyzer outputs for this last i checked, and I'm too lazy to start logic analyzing cv1k boards so not really.
OK, no worries. I didn't realize you didn't have the data somewhere. So, it's a dumb question, but would I be able to do it with an oscilloscope, or do you think I need the logic analyzer to do it?

Did you ever end up using those CPS2 OSSC settings I shared? Curious if they worked out well for you.
Honestly I tried and I couldn't quite figure out how to translate them into the 4k settings. Here is what I was working with, but I think your settings are better.

At first, I felt like I got it close to what you have.

From a distance looks perfect.

Up close not bad, look how young Ryu looks!

You can even see through the damage on the health bar and it looks crisp.

But things start breaking down on extreme zooms.

Can you see how the white bar looks sharp, but when zoomed in, the pixel count is wrong and one row is cut in half? Yeah, that's not pixel perfect, so I'm not there yet.

I guess you already seen it, but if not: pram0d already created a profile for Akai Katana.
Doesnt that profile include the information you are looking for or did he take another approach?

Yeah, I've spoken with him. He's done a few but they are all based on how it "looks" to his eye, no PCB measurements. Sadly, unless I can learn how to measure myself, it will just be eyeballing it as well.
