Just posting this as a public service announcement. I've been looking for one of these for years, and finally some are available in the wild...and brand new, to boot. I offered the seller $100, and he accepted. Possibly a slightly better deal can be had.

For those of you that don't already have the fast deinterlacer card in your VP20/VP30, now's your chance!

175$!?
That's more than I paid for the entire VP30!

This card only helps with 480i/576i video modes, your TV can process thos if you passthru.
Is the quality as high? Likely no, but how many people are running interlaced video modes?

Other than the occasional title screen (gameplay screens are 240p) on Saturn/Playstation I can't think of ANY.
Dreamcast can output 480p (which is vastly superior to 480i) via VGA, and PS2/XBox(1) both can do 480p via component.
Virtually no one should be using interlaced video modes (other then the above example) period.

So is this card IMO worth 175$? Nope. How much would I pay for it? 40$ shipped.

I agree, it's definitely not worth $175. For me, I got my VP30 for a good price about 3 years ago, before the interest (read: prices) started going up. So, the investment is still financially sound for me, all things considered.

I was honestly looking at what VP30's have been selling for recently, considering selling mine, when I saw the listing for the abt-102's. Coincidentally, my 2-month old OSSC just took a dump, so I'm now faced with s-video/480i output from my pre-component consoles, and the lag is noticeable with my VP30 as it sits currently (w/o abt-102).

We all have our collecting interests. For me, the VP30 wasn't truly complete without this card, and they have been non-existent. Thought others might be in the same boat.

Oh I appreciate the post/information... Just wanted to point out what a high price that is, especially given how many people could actually make use of it.
It's also worth mentioning I've seen a VP50 for 200$ (that's only 25$ less than just the interlace card and the VP50 should include the same interlace hardware inside).

I picked up a vp50pro off CL for $225 a few weeks ago; in good cosmetic shape, with PSU, and a giant manual so the deals are definitely out there.
