Seems like a ok little device, but with only composite and s-video output I wouldn't even bother.
Luminance "Y" and chroma "C" are shit compared to RGBs.
Hell even component "YPbPr" video colors pale in comparison...

Answer: Never The Same Color twice!
Explanation: The formula used to calculate relative luminance uses coefficients based on the CIE color matching functions and the relevant standard chromaticities of red, green, and blue (e.g., the original NTSC primaries, SMPTE C, or Rec. 709).

To put it simply each monitor calculates its own RGB values using the above formula on the fly.
As each monitors calculation can vary slightly, each monitor will display colors differently (which is just a nice way of saying inaccurately).

It’s for use with a VCR, so composite is what I have to work with...

What I need the VP100 for is just for the comb filter, so I can connect it between my VCR and Nec XM29.
The XM29 doesn’t have a built in comb filter so the image is rather noisy.

OT: These things seem difficult to find, maybe you can keep an eye out for a Crystal Vision VPS-1 as well? Seems like a good alternative?
