I have a harness I made for the MD1 in a way the unit is kept intact:
- 9VDC is generated from the 12V and plugs in the console's power jack
- two DE9 connectors plug into the controller ports with a LS157 for each of them (might do a 6 button upgrade with a PIC)
- video connects to the DIN8U connector and is amplified
- audio comes from the stereo jack at the front and is also amplified (2x5W sufficient for home use)
