Hi - i took a risk buying a Ghouls n Ghosts first edition Japanese PCB. The game pretty much defined my childhood gaming memories so I was very excited.

When inspecting the board today I noticed two jumper wires soldered underneath the game board.

Does anyone know if this is standard on all GnG boards like this or is this board a repair? It works but a repaired board would diminish the appeal somewhat.

Any perspective someone may have would be appreciated.

Thanks

P.s. I liked the look of the blue sockets on this board but cannot find any information about why Capcom used blue for this board. Was intrigued if anyone knew too.

Yeah even just looking at it kinda looks factory. Esepecially the wire with the ferrite bead that is glued down.
I cant imagine many everyday techs fixing some bad traces would be thinking hey this signal wire needs a ferrite bead on this wire lol.

Looks nice and clean too great game :D

Thanks - yes, I love attention to detail like this in engineering, particularly when it still works (considering the game is now 32 years old).

The board is fairly clean but needs dusting (compressed air and anti-static brush, of course) and knowing myself I will spend 5 hours on the weekend cleaning it meticulously and about 30 minutes actually playing it before getting pulled back to real life :)

I was lucky enough to get Splatterhouse this week too, so almost fully time-warped back to my teenage years.
