Is the Jp version of RoDA encrypted at all? There are no decrypted ROMs available which is why I was curious.

Of course they'll work. You can take any of that particular rom board and throw those de-suicide roms on it and it'll then play RoDA.I will try putting in the de-suicide ROMs when it arrives and I can test it, just to see if they work with the Jp version. Crossing fingers they do.
I was worried because people with the Jp board seemed to have issues with them. I did get a Jp ROM set burnt along with the de-suicide ROMs and was met with a black screen.Of course they'll work. Not with the SYSTEM-32, thankfullyIIRC you will need a standard Motorola 68000 to use with the decrypted roms. The FD module will not work with them.

Not with the SYSTEM-32, thankfullyOnly the S16b, S18 and S24 boards need the X68000 to replace the FD1094. The S32 FD board is on the ROM board itself, not the mb.
I wonder why this is.I was worried because people with the Jp board seemed to have issues with them. I did get a Jp ROM set burnt along with the de-suicide ROMs and was met with a black screen.
?????I wonder why this is.
Different games have different reactions to the FD chip dying. My DBZ V.S.V.R for instance, starts up fine, but freezes after the "Japan only" warning screen. Some games exhibit this behaviour, some just give a black screen.Ah my mistakemy brain was in S16/18 mode.
What happens when the FD chip dies?
So was there a point to your comment here, or were you just being an unhelpful smartarse? Not quite sure what the point of your comment was.I wonder why this is.
