Hey everybody, thought I'd introduce myself; I'm a San Francisco Bay Area resident with a passion for arcade cabs and controls, with an emphasis on rhythm games. I've actually been building ASC's and arcade sticks for like... god, 17 years now? I'm an engineer and tinker in hardware semi-regularly, resulting in DDR pads and fight sticks and even some music controllers for friends. My most recent build was a Chunithm ASC that was custom hardware/PCB design, building off the firmware from the OpenITHM project... I started my designs after falling in love with Chunithm back in 2016 on a trip in Japan, but it stalled out and only came to fruition late 2019 when I discovered that OpenITHM had taken care of the hardest part (reliable captouch stuff; analog electronics are my bane).
My current projects have been designs for a full repro Chunithm cab, and potentially a Vewlix repro as well, though I'm very tempted to just purchase one or both... cost of wood alone makes building a Vewlix over just snagging a Chewlix/actual article a lot less attractive.
