Hantarex US 300 replacement

Hi guys,
I have an Hantarex US 300 powered cab. I have had for about 14 years and suddenly the power supply gave out. 5 volts suddenly became 70v.
I seem to have read that these types of PSU power both the monitor and the arcade chassis.
Is there a direct type of replacement power supply for this type of monitor?
I already found this little screenshot of wat connector does what but it still a bit unclear to me.

I had a cab powered by the 250 version of this, not well regarded. They are known for blowing and taking out your pcb at the same time. The advice I got was that it wasn’t easy to replace with one psu and to replace with two, which seemed a pain. I got the power supply recapped to try to get some more life out of it and sold it before I had any problems.

Smart decision. My PCB I was using at the time is fine (TMNT, phieuw)

I just don't know what I should use as PSU for the monitor. (If it still works)
 
The caps on mine were toast. I recapped it and it has been working fine ever since.

If you want to replace yours, you just need another arcade PSU and, depending on what monitor you have, possibly a transformer.

Like if it's a MTC9300 you need an isolation transformer. Or if it's a Polo, then you don't need one.
 
Hi,
I'm unable to figure out which model of Hantarex I actually have the product code has faded and the other stickers don't really give a clue.
Where do I actually buy a isolation transformer from?
This site seems to have one but I read for hantarex monitors you need 120 to 135v and this one is only 100v

You see the connector that goes from my hantarex to the US300 PSU. It has actually 4 pins . instead of the desired 2. I've read that one is supposed to be degausse but whered do I get that power then?

Can you take a picture of the chassis?

I've used a 2:1 transformer with a MTC9000. Usually the output is usually a bit higher than half of the input. So if input is 230V, output should be closer to 120V than 115V.

Degauss can be configured for 230V (IIRC there's a jumper you have to set), so it's just mains AC.
 
No markings whats sowever. Sorry I couldnt detach everthing with the time I had.

Looks like a variant of MTC9000. I've repaired several of those power supplies, sometimes they just immediately fail again, sometimes not. It's the transformer, if that part has gone there's nothing you can do for it, those are unobtainable. It has multiple windings, I did wonder if it would be possible to find individual ones that could be plumbed in but it seems more likely that the only real solution is a twin setup.

If you decide to recap the PSU note that the most likely other problems are cracked solder on the giant ceramic resistors, cracked solder on the transformer, cracked solder on the input and output AMP connectors, failed transistors on the input side (x2), and the failure will likely have taken out one or more of the regulators.

Also there's a big 400v capacitor on there - on certain models that thing will hold a big charge for a LONG time. It holds 300v or so and I've seen one still read 270 after a full 24h, you absolutely need to discharge that before working on it and after each test if more work is required. If the transformer is making any kind of loud fizzling sound give up immediately, there's no point, they all seem to do that when they've failed.

But can I replace the power supply with another? Do you know a good alternative?
 
Any regular switcher for the general voltages (5v,-5,12v), for the monitor you need this:

"1) SUPPLY
128 V a.c. + 10 —20%, 50/60 Hz The supply to the monitor must be via an isolating transformer with the following characteristics: primary 220/240 V a.c., secondary 128 V a .c .100 VA."

I've seen these hooked up to 230 -> 115ac transformers, 240 -> 120ac, the US300 puts out 135dc. You can probably find something suitable, they don't seem very fussy. You can learn more about this here:

Just get the Jammastar one if shipping is reasonable.
Should be, it is from France . Although i suspect it is just an Aliexpress drop shipper.
