So I was having issues with a few games (MS1 hitting the exception error handling screen like below after selecting cheats, sound issues in a couple of games etc.)

Realized my menu wasn't running the latest version so I updated that and was still having issues. Here's a pic of the cart status the last time it worked:

I came across the thread about issues running the multi on MV-1F (which is the only mobo I have) hardware and cutting the trace at R193. Carefully did that and now the cart won't boot into the menu. This is the closest I get when I first power on then it just goes to a black screen:

I am using unibios 4.0 but I popped the stock bios back in just to see if that would fix it and no similar result, still ends up at a black screen.
I carefully opened the cart, made sure I didn't damage or disturb the SD slot so its not that. I then reconnected the trace thinking that might fix it but nope, same result. Unfortunately, I don't have any regular MVS carts to test on it to make sure it's definitely the multi, but I do know that the region being listed as Europe is wrong, I always set it to USA. Where do I go from here?

If you are confident that you cut and repaired the trace in the same place, then the culprit must be somewhere else.

Did you just update the menu or the FW as well? Try going to the previous version of the menu if you didn't touch the Firmware.

I just updated the fw today hoping that would help and still nothing and I did the menu previously. I tried rolling back the menu version as suggested and I'm just sitting at a black screen. Here's my sd folder, is that correct?

Yes, the contents of that folder are correct. After a succesful update, the contents will be copied into \game\menu and that folder will be deleted? Was it deleted properly?

No. It just sits on a black screen. Never reboots or deletes the files in the update folder.

then the problem is with your microSD or microSD slot IMO. Check that.

How can I check the slot? The glue is still in place and the solder joints look good. As for the sd, it reads just fine in my comp but I'll have to see if I have a spare one I can test with and report back.

When you insert the microSD in your PC, Is it a Mac or a PC? If it's a PC, you need to remove the hidden files, using clean_dot. Also you should do an error check to be sure that the integrity of the microSD is OK.

It's a PC. I just tried a completely different sd, an old 2gb I had laying around. Formatted it, loaded a games folder on it with 1 rom and the update folder with the latest menu and same thing. I get the Neo splash screen showing the region and console/arcade and then right to a black screen.

So i got this back up and running. I had to turn dip 1 on the motherboard and go into the service menu and clear the ram. I tried recutting the trace and the same thing happened, it refuses to boot. So I did the same method above again and got it up and running again. For whatever reason my cart will not function without that trace being connected.
