Hey im necroing this thread.
I have a canary now and an official mahjong panel it appears to be standard size. It came with a deluxe size panel But theres a metal bracket under the deluxe cp I am guessing to allow me to put deluxe cp on standard size? Can anyone clarify? I cant fully open it up as i promised someone to do a unwrapping video as it came from japan.

The metal panel under the cp is used to mount the joysticks.
The issue you are going to have is the CP surround.
The small CP and large CP have different size surround panels. They're not interchangeable.
You will need to fabricate a new surround or find a CP which fits your existing Surround.
